STANDARD INSTALLATION/ WARM INSTALLATION
As a company, we put great emphasis on high quality of installation because we realise that only such an approach to installation ensures failure-free operation of our windows for many years.
We are ready to offer you two types of installation: standard installation and the so-called “warm installation” (three-layer installation).
Standard installation consists in fastening the windows / doors using pegs and then foaming them along their perimeter with polyurethane foam.
In the so-called “warm installation”, we pay particular attention to maintaining high levels of tightness and thermal insulating power of our structures.
How is “warm installation” carried out?
1. Substrate pretreatment
The window opening (reveal) has to be even and stable so that it would be possible to position the tapes properly. Uneven substrate has to be evened out using masonry mortar.
2. Sticking the tape to the window frame
Stick the steam-tight tape (red) to the window frame on the inside and the steam-permeable tape (white) on the outside.
3. Levelling and installing the window frame mechanically in the window opening
Position the window frame appropriately in the opening, plumb and level it, and then immobilise it using wedges or blocks made of plastic or treated wood. Secure the window mechanically using anchors, dowels or brackets.
4. Sticking the steam-permeable tape to the reveal on the outside
Remove the white sheath that protects the tape and stick the tape to the brickwork onto the primed and dry reveal.
5. Filling the slit with polyurethane foam
The slit between the reveal and the window frame should be completely filled with an elastic insulating material that would compensate for the movements of the window frame, which result from the changes of ambient temperature and humidity. Best results are obtained when using high-quality polyurethane foams. Depending on the place of application and the structure of the joinery, you can use one of these foams: Soudafoam Classic, Soudafoam Maxi, Soudafoam Maxi Express, Soudafoam Low Expansion or Flexifoam.
6. Sticking the steam-tight tape (red) to the reveal on the inside
The steam-tight tape (red) protects the polyurethane foam layer against penetration by water vapour and humidity from the interior of the building. Remove the white sheath that protects the tape and stick the tape to the primed and dry reveal.
